The AT&T National Golf Tournament takes place in February each year in California. The tournament is held mainly on 3 prestigious golf courses- Pebble Beach, Spyglass Hill, and the Monterey Peninsula Golf Club. This event started back in 1937. It is considered to be one of the most entertaining tournaments of the golf season because of the notable names that enter and the incredibly low scoring it takes to win. Every year since 1994, the winner has shot double digits UNDER par. This tournament has seen an American hold the trophy at the end in all but three years, the last being in 2004 when VJ Singh (FIJI) won with a score of 16 under par. If there is any question about how hard it is to win this tournament, consider this fact. Tiger Woods and Jack Nicklaus, arguably the best two golfers to date, have only won this tournament 4 times combined. |
