It is no wonder why we call New York City, the city that never sleeps. New York City and the surrounding North Jersey area is the home of 8 professional sports teams out of the four major sports leagues. Sports are a HUGE part of the Big Apple’s culture. There is something for every sports fan in this great city. If baseball is your passion, catch a Yankees game! Then there are the Rangers of the NHL and Knicks of the NBA, both of which play in the world’s most famous arena, Madison Square Garden (MSG). MSG hosts the BIG EAST Tournament- the annual clash of college basketball’s Big East schools during March Madness. Additionally, New York City has some of the most beautiful and luxurious golf courses in all the world. Bethpage Black, located near the city, has been the home of many Golf Majors including the US. Open. Speaking of which, New York also hosts the annual US Open Major Tennis Tournament. There is something for every type of sports fan in this city.
